Traveling With Family? Finding Great Places to Stay

Traveling with my kids, parents and spouse is my favorite thing to do. But when it comes to finding lodging once we arrive to our destination, I quickly regret not making better traveling plans ahead of time. It's not fun driving around a new town, city or state looking for a hotel or bed and breakfast when we should be enjoying ourselves instead. After going through this for the last four years, I decided to plan ahead and obtain accommodations early. I have a large family so finding accommodations that fit everyone comfortably is essential. I found a great site online that offers information on almost destination in the United States. That makes it easier to locate hotels in the cities my family visits the most. Reasons To Stay At A Bed And Breakfast

Blog

When you need a place to stay away from home, you probably do what most people do—book a room at a hotel. It's an easy way to get a clean room with a bed to sleep on in a pinch, but it's not your best option. If you want to enjoy your time away a little more, consider staying at a bed and breakfast.

Here are some good reasons to stay at a bed and breakfast the next time you take a trip:

Opportunities to Socialize

When you stay at a hotel, you rarely leave your room, which makes it hard to meet new people. If there are other guests at the bed and breakfast you're staying at, you will likely spend a lot of time with them and get to know them. Socializing is encouraged at bed and breakfasts, but you can spend as much time in your private room as you'd like if you prefer privacy.

A More Residential Location

Most bed and breakfasts used to be private residences. Therefore, many of them are located in quiet, peaceful residential areas. It's a nice change of scenery from staying at hotels, which are usually in busy areas near shops, restaurants, and other businesses.

Personalized Customer Service

The employees at hotels are usually very busy dealing with lots of guests. Therefore, the customer service isn't always the best. You get a much more personal customer service experience at bed and breakfasts because they have fewer guests to accommodate.

A Homey Feel

Hotel rooms don't usually feel very cozy, but bed and breakfasts have warm and inviting vibes. Since they're actual homes, you will feel much more comfortable during your stay than at a hotel. Everything from the layout to the decor makes you feel right at home.

Support the Owners

One overlooked reason to stay at a bed and breakfast is to support the owners and keep the tradition alive. Many bed and breakfast owners rely on regular guests as their primary income source. By staying at one, you're helping them stay in business.

Try Something Different

Sometimes it's good to mix things up and try something new. If you always stay at hotels when you take trips, why not try staying at a bed and breakfast next time instead? You might love the experience and want to do it more often in the future, but you won't know unless you give it a try.
